Lorry is a word the British use. Instead, we say truck.
Boot is a word the British use. Instead, we say cleat.
Shin-pad is a word the British use. Instead, we say shin-guard.
Bonnet is a word the British use. Instead, we say hood (car).
Trainers is a word the British use. Instead, we say sneakers.

Proud is a word the British use. We also use proud to convey the same meaning.
